I love (and encourage) an engagement shoot to be at a place that is meaningful to the couple. It makes it so much more personal and fun. Sarah grew up in Pasadena, her and Scott live there, he proposed on a neighborhood walk at the Tournament of Roses. And their wedding? where else but Pasadena as well. So of course we hung out in their hood went to the places they love, walked near and on the Colorado bridge and snapped photos as we got to know each other. I think this makes even more special to them. Congratulations Sarah and Scott. Looking forward to being at your wedding.

HHow thrilled was I to have the chance to shoot Tim and Gaby’s engagement photos on Camp Pendelton. Their relationship started while Tim was in the Marines and stationed there. Gaby drove back and forth between LA and San Diego like only young love would do. Now 8 years later they are engaged and every bit as in love. I loved my tour of the base and we had so much fun shooting there amongst the tanks, obstacle course and open rolling hills. Of course Camp Pendelton is on the ocean so we ended our day at sunset on the beach. Sweetest couple ever. I had a blast and hope they love the photos as much as I do

A relatively new venue in downtown LA, the Majestic Halls are just that. Majestic. Natalie and Ed had their gorgeous, stylish, fun, crazy and amazing wedding there. Moody and romantic. I love the vault as a photo backdrop and I love, love, love their emotional first look photos.
Oh and all of you shoe fanatics take a look below.

A sweet December engagement shoot with Hannah and Eric. They turned me on to this great spot in East LA. They had originally wanted Heritage Square Park for their wedding but it didnt meet their needs. Next best thing we got to shoot their engagement pics there. How fun. Cant wait to see you guys again in April

The Otto’s are my friends.. which strangely makes it harder for to photograph. You wouldnt think so but for whatever reason it is. I think it is hard to switch to work mode with friends. Luckily I shot Yvonne and Stefan’s wedding many years ago so I was able to pull it off.
So many many great ones it was hard to narrow down. I pulled Chloe and Sophie aside at Marshall High School in Silverlake, where we both live. I kicked the parents out and bribed them with lollipops but hey it all worked. How adorable are these. The just for fun a few graffiti wall shots of the whole family.

How lucky am I that I photographed two weddings at the beautiful Ojai Valley Inn in Ojai. And I got to work with my favorite ladies at All You Need is Love Events. You cant beat a gorgeous setting like this, perfect wedding and adorable Jeanine and Jeff. I loved the mariachis leading the guests to the reception and if the groom ends up break dancing then you know you are having a great wedding. Congratulations Jeanine and Jeff.

I cant say enough great things about Nick and Morgan’s gorgeous wedding at the Hidden Chateau and Gardens in West Hills. Their perfect mix of modern and gothic personal touches, the super hip suits worn by the groom and groomsmen and Morgan’s stunning dress. It was my first time shooting at the Hidden Gardens and I cant wait to have the occasion to go back. Rustic, romantic and photogenic, my favorite kind of venue. With so many great shots it was hard to narrow it down so I had to go a little overboard here. Congratulations Morgan and Nick. I am happy to be able to see both through out the years because coincidentally they live right across the street!

Yep it is that time of year when many of us photographers are shooting family portraits. Here are few from just this past week. So glad I picked up this cute wagon at a garage sale.

I have been blessed with being so busy with some amazing weddings in the past few months, so forgive me for being so late in my blogging. One very special wedding touched me with their story (friends for many years before discovering their love) and their incredibly personal touches in this backyard wedding. The wedding was held at my good friends house in Echo Park but knowing we would quite tight there once you add in all of their friends and family we decided to get ready in downtown LA at the Biltmore Hotel and play around downtown for some photos before heading to the ceremony site. So so glad we did I love the playful shots downtown mixed with the incredibly emotional picks from their ceremony. Friends and family helped out with this personal wedding. I love all of the sweet touches, handmade signs though out the backyard like love notes to each other and their guests. Congratulations Aaron and Danielle, I was so happy to be a part of it.
Day of coordination by Ashley at Coco Rose events
Although I rarely mention the food, this spread by Romega catering was simply scrumptious
